NiKo, Counter-Strike’s “unlucky superstar,” is known for his incredible aim, fiery passion, and being this close to winning a Major. Early life and rise in CS

NiKo was introduced to Counter-Strike at the age of nine. CS NiKo talks about him and his cousin growing up: “both our parents were having an internet cafe's and we have started playing CS at a very early age and we have always played with "experienced players" at that time and we were learning quickly. “ He showed early signs of exceptional talent and quickly developed his skills, which led to him joining his first professional team by 2011. His breakout moment came during his time with Mousesports, where he gained attention for his incredible accuracy, especially with the Desert Eagle.

Transfer to FaZe Clan

In the year 2017, NiKo became an overnight sensation of the Counter Strike world by transferring to the Faze clan. Very few would fail to realise that he totally was the best gamer in the field owing to his move to FaZe clan in 2017. With FaZe Clan, he quickly became the team’s cornerstone, leading them to multiple tournament victories. 

In the 2018 Boston Major, FaZe Clan entered as favorites, and NiKo was at the peak of his career, aiming for his first Major title. The team stormed through the tournament, reaching the grand final against Cloud9. FaZe took an early lead, but Cloud9 mounted a surprising comeback, pushing the match into overtime on the final map, Inferno. Despite FaZe’s experience and firepower, they fell 14-16 in an unexpected upset. NiKo in CS, visibly shaken by missed shots and strategic errors, was devastated by the loss, which denied him the Major title he had long sought. This defeat became a defining moment in his career, underscoring his continued struggle to claim a Major victory.

In 2020, NiKo joined G2 Esports, a move that reunited him with his cousin, huNter-. G2 provided a fresh start, and NiKo immediately became the team’s focal point. Despite their collective talent, G2 faced significant struggles, particularly in Major events.

NiKo’s leadership and individual performance remained strong, but the team frequently fell short in crucial matches. In recent years, however, G2 has shown more promise, with NiKo openly discussing improved team dynamics and communication, giving hope for future Major success. His quest for a Major title continues with G2.
